The Falconer was modelled on the sport of falconry, which is the art of training birds of prey. The character was designed by Max Henk and produced between 1959 - 1991. Number D6540, marked 1959.
These jugs are the small size character jugs (head only as opposed to the full body toby jugs) produced by Royal Doulton for over 60 years and are very collectible.
In excellent condition, seems to have had little to no use. Can be used as a decorative collectible item for display or as a small condiment jug.
