The character Tam o' Shanter is the character in Robert Burns's poem and is based on his farmer friend, Douglas Graham. The character jug was designed by Max Henk and produced between 1973 - 1980. Number D6636.
These jugs are the small size character jugs (head only as opposed to the full body toby jugs) produced by Royal Doulton for over 60 years and are very collectible.
In very good condition, with one internal rim chip as pictured. Can be used as a decorative collectible item for display or as a small condiment jug.
