Rare Penrod's Guide to the Gold Coast 1959 tourist guide

A rare tourist guide book, Penrod's Guide to the Gold Coast, published 1959. An official tourist handbook endorsed by the Queensland government and the same year that the Gold Coast was officially announced as a city.

This is a fascinating guide with historical pictures of the Gold Coast, places of interest and places to stay. Includes maps and advertisements. Also features a picture of Nancy Knudsen who won the Sun Girl competition in 1958 and went on to be an Australian TV presenter and actor in the 1960's.

In great condition except for the covers, front and back, which is very worn and has been taped.

A very collectible publication and very rare to find a copy, most copies are found in libraries and government collections.
