A stunning Scandinavian ice blue art glass bowl.
Made by Studioglas Strömbergshyttan of Sweden, signed to base and labelled. Appears in their 1959 catalogue as pictured, likely designed by Asta Strömberg but also possibly Gunnar Nylund who was artistic designer from 1954 to 1967.

Quality collectible Swedish glassware, in very good condition. The bowl is very heavy (over 2.8kg), beautiful thick ice blue glass.
Has surface wear as pictured, hard to photograph but showing signs of use consistent with age. No cracks or chips, minor surface scratching and priced accordingly (similar pieces sell for around $400-$500). A beautiful collectible designer piece and the wear mentioned would not be noticeable dependent on use (evident on close inspection)

Measures approx. 220mm diam. (maximum) x 170mm (H), 180mm top opening diameter, 70mm base diameter. Weight is just over 2.8kg.

Strömbergshyttan Glassworks is synonymous with mid-century Swedish glass.
Founded in 1876, it was originally named Lindefors and later became known as Strömbergshyttan in 1933 when Edvard and Gerda Strömberg took over operations. In 1976 it was bought by Orrefors.
Strömbergshyttan’s pieces can be found in many museum collections, including the Swedish National Museum of Art & Design.
