A beautiful and hard to find compote and matching butter or jam dish by Lewbury, Australia, circa 1930's.
With attractive silver filigree style bases and yellow glass bowl inserts, the compote also has a yellow bakelite addition to the foot, with impressed makers stamp on the bakelite. The silver base of the compote is hallmarked EPNS A1.
Lewbury, Australia produced a range of products in silver and bakelite, the bakelite range of colours included yellow, green, blue and red (and of course, black). Certain styles being hard to find and very collectible.
In wonderful condition, the silver may need a polish.
