1950's white wicker and lucite basket style handbag

Collectible mid century 1950's white wicker and lucite basket style handbag. Believed to be Simon, Styled by Mister Ernest label.

A unique style with rounded basket and pearlescent lucite features. A vintage statement piece with lucite hinged top and handle, lucite front latch and featured lucite strips fitted vertically down the front on either side. Finished with gold tone fixtures including twist off latch, studs to front straps and 4 foot base.
Internal lining is a pink polka dot fabric and looks to be a replacement, it is not attached to the internal wicker. 
Some discolouration/rust to the hinges as expected with age. Wicker in excellent order.

These bags were very popular in the 50's and 60's and this handbag will create a unique addition to any outfit. Lucite bags  are highly collectible and make a true vintage statement.
