Rare antique opaline glass pedestal vase with painted peacock

An exquisite rare opaline glass vase in a grey/green colour. This vase has a moulded pedestal base and stunning moulded fan shape bowl. Circa mid-late 1800's.
The front is the masterpiece, a spectacular peacock hand painted with excellence, and on the rear delicate floral and wheat stems on each fan section. The pedestal has a floral ring painted around the base. The hand painting on this piece is exceptional, the intricacy of the artwork and incredible perfection of the peacock and floral decoration.

All edges are gold gilded and the top facing edges and bottom gold ring have a meticulously painted raised dot pattern. The detail and artistry in this piece is a testament to the inimitable fine artistry of the 19th century.

A truly stunning and rare piece of antique glass beautiful enough on it's own or with a floral display. From extensive research it is possibly Harrach, the bottom has a gold painted number 4.

In excellent antique condition with minor wear to some of the art painted gilding on the floral side, and the very top rim/edge gold gilding is particularly worn as expected from age and use as a vase (pictured).

Measures approx. 205mm (W) x 245mm (H) and 100mm (D), 125mm diameter base.
