Long John Silver was modelled on the fictional pirate character of the same name, in Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. The character jug was designed by Max Henk and produced between 1951 - 1998. Number D6386.
These jugs are the small size character jugs (head only as opposed to the full body toby jugs) produced by Royal Doulton for over 60 years and are very collectible.
In excellent condition, seems to have had little to no use. Can be used as a decorative collectible item for display or as a small condiment jug.
