Hornsea Pottery 'Saffron' salt container with timber lid
Vintage 'Saffron' design salt canister by Hornsea Pottery, England.
The classic 1970's and very collectible 'Saffron' pattern by John Clappison features a retro orange and brown colourway and pattern of small daisies, first released in 1970. This particular container has a timber lid with new seal and is stamped 1973 to the bottom.
Quality pottery, made in England. Overall in great condition with one chip to the bottom edge which unfortunately has been touched up with what appears to be some sort of paint and is not the best job. You can, however, turn this to the back when on display so it won't be noticeable.
A fantastic piece and large capacity for the home cook, can fit your hand into the container to easily access salt flakes to add to your dishes whilst cooking.
Measures approx. 125mm diameter x 110mm (H, with lid)
